Reiki is an ancient relaxation technique which promotes healing. It was brought to the West by Mrs. Hawayo Takata, in the late 1930’s who received her attunements from Dr. Chujiro Hayashi, whom in turn received his from Mikao Usui, -Usui Sensei-, founder of the Usui Reiki Ryoho in Japan In the 1920’s. Reiki in its most simplistic term is Universal Life Force Energy. The word Reiki comes from two Japanese symbols: Rei, Universal, Spiritual, and Ki: for life force, Energy. Reiki flows through the palm of the hands of the practitioner by placing them above or slightly on the body of the person receiving it, who is fully dressed at all times. Reiki is not a Religion. Everyone has Reiki, nevertheless, the attunements, (Reiju), performed by a Reiki Master opens the channel which allows Reiki to flow.
MY REIKI JOURNEY
My Reiki journey started in the mid 90’s while living in Mexico. It was there that I was introduced to Reiki and completed my Reiki 1 and 2. From there on I practiced mostly on close friends and relatives for over 20 years. It was not until early 2015 that I felt the call and met the right teacher with whom I felt comfortable enough to pursue and complete my Reiki master certification.
